Planning Landscapes for a better world

Download Portfólio

RIO PLANO appears on the market in early 2001, as a company for project design and consulting in the areas of Landscape Architecture, Environment and Urban Art, where professionalism, quality of work and customer responsiveness occupy the prominent place in their growth process.

The landscape architecture covers a number of subjects related to the different work areas to which it is connected. It is an art, a multidisciplinary field, and as such, their actions involve diverse knowledge, lacking the ‘reading’ the landscape of a holistic view. In this sense, the studio has a portfolio with diversified range of projects, where interdisciplinarity is an important factor in the projects development, with the presence of several consultants in the areas of Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Agricultural and Forest), Economics, Design and Art.

In addition to its valences on the provision services, Rio Plano incorporates in its action policy the creation of synergies with academic institutions, with the establishment of partnerships with educational institutions, supporting and guiding internship programs, which highlight the Évora University and the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, as well as in the development of I&D projects, with the Institute of Agronomy, Technical University and University of California, Berkeley.

Another aspect of the relationship with many educational institutions is the partnership in projects of regional and national scale, thus providing an added value to their experience with new trends and research in the areas of Landscape and Environment. The recent focus on creating new trends in the design of urban furniture and Landart, in partnership with production and marketing companies is also noteworthy.
Its main areas of action are reflected in the Project (historical centers, municipal gardens and historic farmhouses, museums, tourist developments, golf courses, schools, urban parks, children and youth recreational areas, private condominiums and family houses among others), Urban and biophysical planning (detailed plans, beach plans, mobility and accessibility plans and plans basins and reservoirs, among others), in landscape management (restoration of natural areas, environmental restoration and landscape of landfills, processing centers of urban solid waste, recovery of degraded areas and environmental impact studies, among others) on the urban Art Interventions, as well as project Management and Supervision. Note also, his recent focus on creating new trends in the design of street furniture, in partnership with the production and marketing companies.
